From a birdwatcher's point of view, Norfolk is recognised as having the best stretch of coastline in the UK and gets more rare birds than any other location in the country.

The area contains some of the best nature reserves and has a wide variety of habitats, including extensive areas of sand and shingle beaches, saltmarsh, reedbed and fresh, brackish and saline lagoons.
